The month of muharram have just started. (For those of you who isn't familiar with the name; muharram is the first month in the Islamic calender.) This is my first muharram in Iran, and its been nice to see how a whole nation mourns the death of Prophets grandson imam Hussain (as). There is innumerable majlis (gatherings) going on in the city of Qom at any time through the 10 first days of Muharram. The roads, schools, shops, mosques, literally almost anything public is having some kind of a flag or a banner in the remembrance of the tragedy of Karbala. Not to mention private cars having sprayed on different texts on their windows and houses with big black flags on waving on the roof.
Unfortunately my camera stopped working before the month of muharram started, so I haven't been able to catch all the moments I was hoping to catch. I took some few pictures with my "almost dyeing" mobile, which I will share together with some few pictures i got from Hasifa productions.
