Pens and pencils are all over my house! On the sofa, in Mahdi's toy box, at the kitchen counter, on the floor and not to mention on the matress! Thanks to my son who loves doing everything his dad is doing, which also includes writing and drawing. He grabs the pen or pencil my husband is holding and then goes to find something to draw on, as soon as he sees a new pencil in his dad's hand, he throws the first and comes to get the new one. This has been going on for some months, so I concluded that I needed to have somewhere to put the growing pen and pencil pile so my husband can easily find them.
I had seen some ideas online a while ago and had saved two cans. It took me 10 minutes to make these pretty penholders, which means this is a perfect DIY project for moms. You won't need to buy any fancy expensive thing to make it either. Everyone has some glue somewhere in a drawer in there house, so there is only one thing to buy; gift wrapping paper. Most big grocery shops have it and it's normally about 500 tomans for one sheet.
1 sheet gift wrapping paper, or even 1/3 of it will be more then enough
Place the can on the paper, and trace the size of it. Cut a long strip enough to go around the whole can. Put glue all around the can, and cover it with paper. If it's too big at some point, use the scissor or a knife to cut the excessive paper.
Voila.. that was it! If you have enough time and want to do something more fancy, you can paint the inside of the can. Instead of using a paper with pattern like I did, you can also use a plain paper as a base and then make a strip in the middle with some pattern paper. Let your creativity decide.
